Synopsis?
Ever picked up a promising fantasy book, read the back or inside flap, then quickly put it back down? Despite the cover's amazing artwork, the story itself sounds so archetypal. Why read another story about a teenage brat being swept into a strange, fantastical world full of magical beings, mystical wisdom and a prophecy that details the world's end--unless the reluctant hero can put his act together and save the day? Never mind he's not even from this fantastical world so powerful yet so unable to help itself. Seen it. Read it. Done too much.

The problem is, the problem might not lie within the pages, but only be in the synopsis that so turned you off. How does one fix this problem? Simple. Get the freaking hero to write his own dang synopsis. Pretty sure if he can handle telling the story in his own words, he'll do a better job summing it up than anybody else.

My name is Key, and this is my story. As a warning, this novel does include reluctant heroes, dooms-day prophecies and a fantastical whirlwind of abstract characters not of our world. That said, it doesn't only have these. My story, unlike most fantasy novels, is true. (Yeah, yeah, you've heard this routine before.) I don't necessarily mean it's an honest-to-goodness factual narrative biography detailing the life of a boy-turned-man. This story is true insomuch that it deals with life. People. Feelings. And humor (this being the most important of the lot).

Don't believe me? (I'm a liar by nature so you have every right to question.) How about you take my challenge and read for yourself. You won't be disappointed (and if you are, that's your problem).

My pet monster Paradise? has officially sent off its first query letter to the first agent on my list. I thought this warranted announcing to everyone despite my current hiatus. I'll keep you posted as things progress. I should hear from the agency in 5-10 days, as is their policy.

This of course means that Paradise? is vanishing from dA in all its written forms until further notice. Thank you again to all those who have read and helped to correct this manuscript in its many stages.
